Release Notes for KubeSlice EE 1.12.0

Release Date: 12th September 2024

KubeSlice is a cloud-independent platform that combines network, application, Kubernetes, and deployment services in a framework to accelerate application deployment in a multi-cluster and multi-tenant environment. KubeSlice achieves this by creating logical application slice boundaries which allow pods and services to communicate seamlessly across clusters, clouds, edges, and data centers.

We continue to add new features and enhancements to KubeSlice.

What's New πŸ”ˆβ€‹

These release notes describe the new changes and enhancements in this version.

Pre-checks for a Replication Job on KubeSlice Manager

KubeSlice Manager's Replication page now performs pre-checks for a replication job. If any pre-checks are incompatible, the replication job is halted. The replication job can be remediated either by Kubernetes or through manual intervention. The replication job can still proceed with one or two failed pre-checks.

For more information, see replicating resources.

Known Issues πŸ“ƒβ€‹

  • The Replication feature is in beta. The replication feature may be unstable.

  • When namespaces are replicated from a cluster:

    • The kubeslice labels do not get attached to the replicated namespace.
    • The applications on the replicated namespace work only after the namespace is onboarded onto the slice. You must redeploy the applications on the replicated namespace.
