Release Notes for KubeSlice EE 0.8.0

Release Date: 6th April 2023

KubeSlice is a cloud-independent platform that combines network, application, Kubernetes, and deployment services in a framework to accelerate application deployment in a multi-cluster and multi-tenant environment. KubeSlice achieves this by creating logical application slice boundaries which allow pods and services to communicate seamlessly across clusters, clouds, edges, and data centers.

We continue to add new features and enhancements to KubeSlice.

What's New

These release notes describe the new changes and enhancements in this version.

Enhancements

Slice and Cluster Health

A new tab called Health is added to the KubeSlice Manager dashboard to monitor the slice and the connected worker clusters. The health statistics are in pie charts for slice ad clusters. For more information, see the KubeSlice Manager dashboard.

KubeSlice Controller-generated Events

KubeSlice generates controller events in the kubeslice-controller and kubeslice-project namespaces. The events can be retrieved using the corresponding command. For more information, see controller events.

Issues Fixed

  • We have fixed the issue where the Resource Quota charts on the KubeSlice Manager dashboard showed no data.

Known Issues

  • This known issue occurs on the Manage Resources tab of the KubeSlice Manager. While adding or editing resource quota, after applying YAML on the step 3 tab, the quotas are applied, but the usage values show as NA.
