Enhanced Pod Density with Multi-VNIC Support on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure

The multiVNIC feature increases the number of secondary Virtual Network Interface Cards (VNICs) assigned to each node when using VCN-Native Pod Networking. Each secondary VNIC provides 31 additional pod IP addresses, enabling nodes to scale to higher pod densities, up to the default maximum of 110 pods per node supported by Kubernetes.

This feature is available only when the cluster is configured for VCN-Native Pod Networking and the OciNodeClass defines a pod subnet for VCN-Native Pod Networking.
