Release Notes for EGS Version 1.16.0

Release Date: 27th Jan 2026

The Elastic GPU Service (EGS) platform is an innovative solution designed to optimize GPU utilization and efficiency for your AI projects. EGS leverages the power of Kubernetes to deliver optimized GPU resource management, GPU provisioning, and GPU fault identification.

We continue to add new features and enhancements to EGS.

These release notes describe the new changes and enhancements in this version.

info
  • Across our documentation, we refer to the workspace as the slice workspace. The two terms are used interchangeably.
  • The EGS Controller is also referred to as the KubeSlice Controller in some diagrams and in the YAML files.
  • The EGS Admin Portal is also referred to as the KubeSlice Manager (UI) in some diagrams and in the YAML files.

What's New πŸ”ˆβ€‹

Workload Redistribution Across Worker Clusters

EGS now supports workload redistribution across worker clusters within a slice workspace. This feature enables better resource utilization and load balancing by allowing workloads to be dynamically moved
between clusters based on real-time resource availability and demand.

For more information, see Workload Redistribution Across Worker Clusters.

Enhanced Dashboard with the Continuum Map

The EGS Admin Portal dashboard now includes a Continuum Map that provides a visual representation of GPU resource distribution across different tiers of the edge-to-cloud continuum. This feature helps administrators to quickly assess resource allocation and identify potential bottlenecks in the infrastructure.

For more information, see Add the Continuum Map.

Workspace (Slice) NS Gateway Enhancements

Enhancements have been made to the Workspace (Slice) NS Gateway to improve its functionality and performance:

  • CRD improvements for better resource management
  • Support for backend service export based remote service
  • Support for timeout configuration for the gateway
  • Enhanced logging and monitoring capabilities
  • Automatic weight calculations based on running workloads
  • SliceNS GW comes with a set of new specifications to support East-West traffic routing

For more information, see Workspace (Slice) NS Gateway.

Workspace Network Health

You can now view the health of a workspace that has an overlay network configured (Single Network) in the EGS Admin Portal. The workspace network health provides insights into the status of namespaces, gateways, and services associated with the workspace.

For more information, see View the Workspace Network Health.
